be helpful for educating others about Fragile X Syndrome
and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

ASSESSMENTS |

 Developmental FX can provide
a full team assessment involving speech,
occupational therapy and psychology. We can also provide any one
or combination of these evaluations as needed. This team
approach is unique and critical for the assessment of Fragile
X Syndrome and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
The recommendations from our assessments provide an integrated
view of the child with medications and intervention plans
intertwined and prioritized to maximize individualized
development.
Thoughtful case conferences with families complete the
assessment process, where the information is shared and
priorities and recommendations established.

TREATMENT |

 Individual and Group based speech and occupational
therapies as well as psychological services are
available at Developmental FX. This is true for local
individuals as well as for anyone who wishes to come to
beautiful Denver, Colorado and participate in a treatment
intensive.
Treatment Intensives provide a unique opportunity
for individuals who either do not have access to specialized or
appropriate treatment, or simply desire more in depth
intervention at a given point in time. Individualized programs
are established for those individuals who desire this
opportunity. In general, a family would travel to Denver to stay
for a week, month or even longer. During this time the child
would receive the desired therapies on an individualized
intensive schedule. Program planning for the future can be built
into the therapy intensive.

CONSULTATION |

 Developmental FX can provide onsite
consultation at your school, vocational setting, or
home. Additionally, phone consultations, review of videotapes
and review of educational or placement plans can be done.

CONSULTATION CLINICS |

Let the experts come to you. Three master
clinicians have come together to provide an opportunity to
access their expertise without disrupting your child's schedule.
Marcia Braden, PhD, licensed psychologist and special education
consultant, Tracy Stackhouse, OTR, occupational therapist and
Sara Scharfenaker, MA, speech pathologist, have formed an
integrative team to consult with you about your child with
Fragile X Syndrome (FXS). These experts can provide consultation
related to the following areas:
- Behavior management
- Education strategies
- Sensory processing
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Speech and language
- Eating, feeding and toileting difficulties
Consultation Clinics can easily be arranged in
your city for up to ten families over a three day period of
time. The setting for the clinic is up to you: hotel board rooms
have worked well in the past but physician's offices and school
classrooms are excellent options as well.

TRAINING & MENTORING |
| |
Developmental FX offers several unique
training and mentoring programs. This can
be done on site or at our Denver office. Families and
professionals will want to take advantage of these programs.
Some therapists have chosen to work side by side with our staff
by coming to Denver and co-treating or observing some of our
treatment and assessment sessions. Others prefer to have our
staff come to them and provide the training/mentoring at their
site. Sometimes the training is set up in conjunction with a
treatment intensive, where a family will bring their child to
see us and have their therapist accompany them to insure carry
over of programming.
All training and mentoring is set up on an individualized basis.
